Why does my store only show PayPal as a payment method?

Hey,

 

I have been having a problem with my store for the past days. It seems even though I have activated shopify payment at the checkout it only shows paypal as the only method. I would really appreciate it if you could take a look and help me solve this problem so that the other payment methods are shown as well.

Hey there, @htw_. Thanks for making this post in the Shopify Community regarding your checkout and payment options. It's great to meet you!

 

I took a few minutes to test your checkout, and I can confirm that I only see PayPal as an option once at the 'Payment' step of the checkout process. This suggests that you have yet to complete your Shopify Payments setup, if this is the payment gateway you're planning on using. 

 

If possible, can you go to your Payments Settings and let me know if you see any wording within your Shopify Payments box that may suggest what next steps need to be completed? Can you also let me know where you are operating your business from?

 

Follow up with me here when you can with that requested information! I'll keep my eyes peeled for your reply!

  • Hey, these are the images that are shown now. I had to complete the PayPal setup, but other than that nothing else.Still PayPal is the only payment method. (I live in Germany)

Hi there, @htw_. Thanks for following up with that screenshot!

Do you see where it says 'manage' in the corner of the Shopify Payments section? Can you click on that for me? Within there, you can decide what payment methods are available. Can you check to see if you have any of those options checked off or selected? This could be the cause of the issue.

 

Let me know how things look when you click the 'manage' text there.

Definitely weird that those payments options not appearing, considering that everything looks good based on your screenshots!

 

I think it would be best that our authenticated support team take a look into your store to see what's occurring here, that way we can get your options appearing as expected.

As per some of my previous replies here, it's best that you get in touch with our authenticated support team so they can investigate why your payment options aren't appearing in checkout. Can you provide me with some more information around why you feel customers are unable to checkout? I have some specific questions I'd like answers to below:

 

  • Can you provide me with a link to your store, so I can see how things are appearing currently from a customer perspective?
  • Are your customers telling you that they're unable to complete purchases? Can you provide me with some information around the errors they may be running into?
  • Are there any other signs or suggestions you're experiencing that make you believe that your store is unable to process sales?

I have done that and they are escalating…been on the chat for an hour with no resolve

Just to set some expectations from you, escalations require involvement from some of our Internal Teams in order for a resolution to be resolved. If things are being escalated, the ticket cannot be passed along until the chat with the advisor has been ended, and a ticket has been created, that they can escalated.

 

Once a ticket has been escalated, the Internal Team handling the ticket will be following up with you via email ASAP to provide you with information regarding a resolution for your issue.

 

You're in good hands! Just keep an eye on your email inbox for any messages from the team!
