Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello, I have a product that only weighs 1lb. I've entered 1lb. for the product but it is defaulting to 5lb.-70lb. which is defined in my Custom Shipping and Delivery Rates. The product should not cost that much to ship, so why is it defaulting to a weight of 5-70lb. Rate? Any suggestions?

Hello, @eric95.
Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.
If you're seeing a heavier weight on the cart when checking out, then it's possible that you may have an additional weight added to the default package. The products' weight and the default package are both used when calculating the shipping at checkout. To check the default package weight on your store, we've got a step-by-step guide on that right over here: Edit your default package for calculations at checkout.
If you've checked over the default package and the issue continues to persist, then it looks like we'll need to access your account in order to resolve the issue. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit the Shopify Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request.
I'd love to hear more about your business and shipping needs! What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

Hello Elias,
I found the problem. This was a product that I manually added and I checked the "More Actions" on the product, and selected the "Edit Weight" link and there it was...10lb was set for the product. So it was defaulting to calculating the weight at 10lb instead of just 1lb like it is suppose to be. I simply removed the weight and now it is calculating the shipping cost correctly now. Thanks.
