Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi All,
we have noticed that Shopify take a percentage of our total orders which is fine. However this includes our shipping charge to our customer which is an indipendants carrier and is a service not a sale of product! Is there anyway we can change this.
Thanks
Hi, @RBCO751!
Thanks for your post, I'm happy to look into this with you.
Can you confirm where you see Shopify taking a percentage of your shipping charges? It's possible that what you're seeing is a credit card fee. Shopify charges you a small fee to allow you to accept major credit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard, as payment in your store. This applies to any payment processed on your store. You can read more about these fees in this help document.
If you're seeing this charge somewhere else, just let me know and I can do some more digging!

Hi Greta,
Its in our payment schedule showing Fees and the amount deducted. Is this just for credit card charges or various debit cards? If so should we be putting a percentage for each transaction as ultimately this comes off our bottom line profits!
Thanks for coming back to me.
Hi, @RBCO751!
Thanks for that context. There is a small fee for every payment processed using Shopify Payments (whether your customer uses a credit card or co-branded debit card). This is standard for all payment gateways. You can find your credit card rate by following these steps!
You can certainly include this fee in your expenses when deciding how to price your product. I recommend checking out our blog post on pricing strategies for more information!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
