Why does the system automatically select customer pick-up despite entering a shipping address?

some of my customers have been messaging me, that when they provide the shipping address at the checkout point the system automatically selects pick-up by the customer without the option to change it, and even when the system has the information about the shipping address being in a different city or even country.  Is this something with my settings? I tried but does not give me any option to adjust it and on the checkout page, I can not modify the template.

Unfortunately, Shopify Pickup doesn't have any option to restrict the pickup based on zip code or distance.

 

One suggestion would be to configure the shipping rates so that the customer will be able to switch from pickup to the shipping options offered at checkout.

 

You may try using Shopify Flat Rate Shipping.

If you have activated the "Local pickup" option, I think it will always be displayed at checkout regardless of the customers shipping address. However, if it is the only option displayed at checkout, I think you might need to check the other shipping options you provide - whether your shipping rates are correctly configured for addresses in a different city and country.
