Why is a refund disrupting my weekly payout schedule?

We are set up for weekly Payouts that occur each Thursday, and it contains the occasional refund (deduction). This week, a refund was randomly "Paid out" on its own on Tuesday, Shopify is attempting to withdraw the $ instead of deducting from Thursday Payout. Withdrawal was NOT sucessful as this is NOT the typical process, and now our actual Payout is on HOLD. HELP We need payouts to be deducted from our weekly payout, not withdrawn directly from back account each time we refund.
