Why is calculated shipping not available for customer's selected address?

Hi, I am having issues with calculated shipping. I am able to ship with free shipping but if I select calculated shipping, the customer's receive a message saying "Shipping not available for the selected address." I have checked the shipping location and the weights of the items. Could it be something to do with the tags or collections or something I'm not seeing. I know it can work because I had it set up late year. I changed it to free shipping for the Holidays and haven't been able to get it back. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @withmamamoon 

 

To access your carrier calculated rates for different carriers, there are 3 options:
  • Add this feature for an additional $20/month on your current Shopify plan
  • Choose a yearly subscription for your current Shopify plan, with which you can get this option for free.
  • Upgrade your plan to Advanced Shopify Plan
Once you choose any of these, you can contact Shopify support to enable it in your store.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me. I just want to clarify that if I sign up for the yearly subscription of the basic plan, this will be included for free? Is this something new and why weren’t we made aware of it? How do I contact Shopify to enable this feature? Does it not just automatically update?

Hi @Withmamamoon, welcome to the Shopify community!
Good job with checking your shipping settings to make sure the weights and locations are correct. I saw Anindita gave you some great advice, but I wanted to give you another solution to try while you wait to hear back from the support team. It sounds like you might have some products missing in your shipping zones. Here’s how to resolve that issue:

  • Log into your Shopify Admin > Settings > Shipping and Delivery
  • Once there you will be able to see the different shipping zones you have created 
  • Click on Manage
  • At the top of the page you will see all the products that are able to be shipped within the shipping zone. 

If you do not see “all products” that means some of your products are missing from that zone. You can manage your products to add the rest.

If you are still having trouble with your shipping rates being calculated at checkout then it's best to wait for a reply from the Shopify Support team as they will be able to authenticate your account and get a better understanding of what the issue might be.
