Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have an LLC ready to use on the store which means I also have an EIN. When I went in to set up up Shopify payments, I switched it to LLC. That's when it switched from prompting me to use my full SSN to only the last 4 digits. I was good with this but I had to leave fro something and when I came back and went through the same process, it prompted for the full SSN which I'm not ok with. Why did this happen? The only difference is that I set up a domain for the website.
Hi, @Mayoon15
Thanks for posting to the Forums. I hope your day is going well!
It sounds like you're experiencing some confusion with the Shopify Payments setup process.
Due to regional restrictions, and at the request of our banking partners, we need to thoroughly verify each individual that uses Shopify Payments.
When setting up Shopify Payments in the United States, the system will always require you to input a Social Security Number or ITIN depending on the type of business you have.
To resolve this, I recommend reaching out to Shopify Support directly. They'll be able to access your account and provide you with specific guidance based on your situation. You can contact them through the Help Center via live chat.
Let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with!
