Why is my checkout saying 'shipping not available'?

Why is my checkout saying 'shipping not available'?

I am currently having issues with checkout on my site. I have had customers saying when they go to checkout it says "shipping not available for selected address". Also, it only gives them the option to use shop pay, google, or meta pay. I updated my shipping profiles and added all products and I also have visa, MasterCard, and discover card selected for payouts. I have had some sales coming through but a lot of abandon carts. I just need help getting this issue fixed.

Thanks for reaching out in our Community Forums, @theburntbridge. To confirm, at the time when customers were seeing the error on your store's checkout, you only had the three accelerated checkout options available on your store, correct?

The error message your customers were seeing typically occurs within the Shop Pay checkout environment, and due to inventory levels within the Shopify admin. Normally, the below scenario is what would initiate the system to produce that error message:

  1. A product only has one unit left in stock.
  2. Customer A and Customer B both have this item in their cart at the same time.
  3. Customer A places their order before Customer B completes their checkout with Shop Pay, so now the product is out of stock.
  4. Customer B tries to complete their Shop Pay checkout, and encounters a "Shipping not available for the selected address" error, because there is no stock left to ship the product to them if they complete checkout.
  5. Customer B is sent an Abandoned checkout notification, and when they open the Shopify checkout, receive an out of stock notice.

If this isn't the case for your store however, and you're seeing that your product inventory is fully stocked, you can take a look at this Forums thread for some troubleshooting steps to a similar shipping rate issue.

In regards to your Shopify Payments settings, you mentioned that you have the necessary cards selected on your store, correct? You can take a look at the image below if you'd like to see what this looks like:

If the necessary cards have been selected within your admin's payment settings, can you now check that you have a section on your checkout page that allows you to input your credit card details for payment, like the below?

Let me know how you get on with the above! Feel free to also respond here if you have any further enquiries.

Thank you so much for your help. While I was looking under the payment options for my check out I noticed the checkout button color was white and was not able to be seen to go to the full checkout. It was only allowing the express checkout options. So now everything is all fixed. Thank you.
