Hi there, @ImHector!
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble adding your card to Shopify, but I'm happy to look into this with you.
I would first ask that you try some local troubleshooting, such as clearing your cache and cookies and/or using an incognito window, to see if the error persists. I also recommend checking that you're satisfying all of our payment method requirements:
I would also be interested to know what your bank said about the issue, as banks are usually the ones who have the most information on why a charge isn't going through.
If you're unable to get the issue resolved before your free trial, not to worry! Your store's information is guaranteed for 2 years, so you can reactivate your account even after it's been frozen by paying any outstanding/current invoices. You can find out more in this help document.
Please let me know if you require any further assistance!

I have the same problem and I'm from Pakistan my debit card is being declined showing error
Hi @jiya_w
Thank you for joining the conversation! I recommend reviewing our supported payment options in our Help Center for more information on accepted methods of payment: Billing FAQs.
It's important to note that Shopify only support debit cards that are co-branded with Visa, AMEX, or Mastercard. Standard debit cards are not supported at this time.

Hello there! I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble purchasing a plan for your store. It can be frustrating when you're trying to make a payment, and it keeps getting declined. It sounds like you've taken the right steps by contacting both Shopify and your bank for support. Have they been able to provide any solutions or suggestions so far? Sometimes, there can be issues with the payment gateway or the bank's fraud prevention measures that may cause a payment to be declined. It may be worth exploring other payment methods or reaching out to Shopify support again to see if there are any further troubleshooting steps that can be taken.
I am having this same issue, but I tried both PayPal and my debit card. neither of them work, I'm thinking maybe it's because the name on the card is my moms and not mine?? but I put her name in because that's how it is on the card can someone please help
Hi, @sybilnolan!
Thanks for reaching out. Can you confirm that you're encountering the issue when trying to pay your Shopify bill? Are you getting a specific error message, or is the payment just declined? If you could also let me know which country you're in that would be super helpful.
I look forward to assisting you further!

I am having the same issue. I have communicated to endless bots to resolve the matter, but there doesn't seem to be a solution. The error that I get is 'add a valid payment method' I have been in touch with my bank and they have said it's not them. I believe them as I have tried different VISA Bank cards. The issue seems to lie with Shopify settings. I am based in the UK and am paying in my currency, I also tried in USA currency too. That did not work
Hi, @ZenHenriks!
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I recommend you try some local troubleshooting such as clearing your cache and cookies and/or using an incognito window to see if that fixes the error. If it doesn't, feel free to get in touch with our live support team through the Help Center so we can investigate further.
