Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi everyone, I recently started a Shopify store and I'm having trouble setting up the proper shipping rates for my customer. I'm dropshipping from AliExpress. I'm based in Canada. I would like to ship to all e-packet countries. The product vendor says shipping to the USA (from China) is about $2 USD. I decided to test out the checkout experience but I found a problem.
When I checkout, the shipping page shows the product coming via Canada Post and costs anywhere from $19-$40 CDN.
I thought I was going to be able to ship it for only $2 USD. What am I doing wrong? On the Aliexpress product page, it shows that shipping from China to Canada is estimated to be only about $2USD.
Can you please help?
Thanks

Hi, @northwester!
It sounds like you might have Canada Post rates set up by default under Settings > Shipping and delivery. If you're using a dropshipping app, it will help you import products to your store, but it doesn't connect to your shipping settings. These shipping rates need to be set manually.
Typically for dropshipping stores, we recommend removing any carrier rates and adding flat shipping rates instead. The flat rates you set up under Settings > Shipping and delivery are what customers pay at checkout, and these rates will help you cover the shipping costs you pay to the supplier.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
