Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have Paypal Express Checkout enabled on my Shopify store.
When my friend was trying to place an order he got this message: This store can't accept real orders or real payments."
What should I do?
BTW: I am subscribed to a paid Shopify plan
Hi there, @ammarzaheer25.
Based on what you are describing here, it sounds as though you have a test gateway currently active in your store. By placing a test order, you can make sure that your checkout process and settings for order processing, inventory, shipping, email notifications, and taxes are all correct. You aren't charged for a test order. You should place at least one test order during your store setup, or whenever you make changes to your payment settings. You can place a test order by simulating a transaction through Shopify's Bogus Gateway, or if you're using Shopify Payments, then you can test your configuration by using Shopify Payments test mode. You can also use a real payment provider, and then immediately cancel and refund the order. You might be subject to fees from the payment processor that you use. You can read more about test gateways and how to disable them right here.
I hope this helps to get your gateways set up properly! Do you have any plans in place yet for Black Friday / Cyber Monday? Now is the time to prepare! We have a really excellent hub full of resources to get you ready for what could be your most profitable weekend of the year!
