Why isn't my newly purchased domain visible yet?

Hello, I bought a domain for 15$ on Shopify and after about 8 hours, it’s still not showing that I own the domain with the “.com” and still showing me my old link with “.Shopify.com”. It also took the money away from my Paypal. What should I do?

Hello, @Cragz.

When you purchase a domain, it can take up to 48 hours for the domain to become "redirected" to the new owner/site. I believe that after this 48-hour period, you should see the domain in your admin as expected. 

If for anyone reason you do not see the domain as expected after the 48-hour period, then it would be best to reach out to our live support team for their advice on next steps. Our live support can be reached via our support portal here.  Simply select the relevant topics until the live support options appear, you will then be connected to a live support agent.

What stage are you at with your store? Are you getting ready for store launch? If so, I would definitely recommend having a look over our Store Launch Checklist - if you can meet all of these points before store launch, you are making sure you re in the best position possible and set up for success form the beginning. It sounds as though this is the error you are experiencing. In this case, I would advise reaching out to our live support directly and explaining the situation - they can then advise you on the best next steps to take.
