Why isn't my PayPal Express Checkout functioning properly?

Hi,
I need help adding Paypal express checkout to my store. I have tried everything and still getting the same message ( Denied) as in the attachment. I contacted both Shopify and Paypal supports and they both kept saying everything was right. I Would appreciate any way forward from the community. Attached herewith is a screenshot of the message on my dashboard.

Thank you for your post, I'm happy to look into this with you. 

 

From the screenshot you shared, it looks like PayPal Express Checkout is active, however you weren't accepted for Automatic payments. Some apps need to charge customers automatically, like for subscriptions or post-purchase offers. In these cases, the customer agrees to a billing agreement in PayPal between you (the merchant) and the customer. To offer billing agreements as a merchant, you have to be approved by PayPal for Reference Transactions (also known as Automatic payments), which is the PayPal feature that allows you to charge customers automatically. This specific feature is what you were denied access to. You can read more about this in our help document

 

So essentially, you can use the PayPal Express Checkout on your store, but your customers are not able to use PayPal for subscriptions, deferred payments options, or post-purchase offers. For more information on why this decision was made, you can contact PayPal directly

Hi Greta, 

Thanks for reaching out, yes I do have a post purchase app on the store. However, is there a way to get around this as this is a common app everyone uses.

I have just the approved basic shopify express checkout buttons on the store which I think could affect my conversion rate without the PayPal buttons. 

Actually I have contacted both Shopify and PayPal several times and they kept saying everything was fine.

Thank you for getting back to me and sharing that context. The decision to deny your account of the automatic billing feature was decided entirely by PayPal, so unfortunately I'm not able to change that. I recommend contacting PayPal again to request information on why your account was denied specifically for reference transactions/automatic billing. They'll be able to help you further.
