Why isn't my product variant matching its correct shipping rate?

Hey everyone

I'm selling a particular product and it has 24 different variants. I precisely set the price and weight for each variant, and also made shipping rates corresponding to the appropriate variant. For each of my shipping rates, I have conditions by weight. 

 

Now, what should happen when a customer is buying this product is variant A should be paired with shipping rate A, but variant A is paired with shipping rate C. I've reviewed my shipping rate conditions and each variant's weight, and everything seems to match perfectly.

 

There are 24 variants to this product, and 10 shipping rates divided like so:

 

variant 1: shipping rate 1

variant 2: shipping rate 1

variant 3: shipping rate 1

variant 4: shipping rate 2

variant 5: shipping rate 2

variant 6: shipping rate 3

variant 7: shipping rate 4

variant 8: shipping rate 4

variant 9: shipping rate 4

variant 10: shipping rate 5

variant 11: shipping rate 5

variant 12: shipping rate 6

variant 13: shipping rate 7

variant 14: shipping rate 7

variant 15: shipping rate 7

variant 16: shipping rate 8

variant 17: shipping rate 8

variant 18: shipping rate 8

variant 19: shipping rate 9

variant 20: shipping rate 9

variant 21: shipping rate 9

variant 22: shipping rate 10

variant 23: shipping rate 10

variant 24: shipping rate 10

 

my shipping rate conditions look like this:

ex: 1-1lb

ex. 1.35-1.35lb

Is this the only product in the added to a cart? There might be some other products that add up to the order weight.

 

If this is the only product, then you might be able to resolve this by setting different shipping profiles for different product variants instead of using the item weight. For instance, the variant A can be in custom shipping profile that has the same shipping zones as the one you are currently using in your store. Once that is set, you can create a shipping rate based on your "shipping rate 1" rules that will be activated once this variant is found in the order.
