Why isn't PayPal express checkout working on my store?

I need help adding Paypal express checkout to my store. I have tried everything and still getting the same message Active and when I test it doesn't show how. I contacted both Shopify and Paypal supports and they both kept saying everything was right. I Would appreciate any way forward from the community. Attached here with is a screenshot of the message on my dashboard.

Hi, @Rayan_Mohd12. I'm happy to look into this with you! Which plan are you currently using?


There are a few different things that could cause this error you're seeing. That being said, based on the screenshots you shared I believe this is being caused by the currency you're using for your store. This error can often happen with PayPal if customers are trying to check out with a currency that isn't supported by PayPal. I took a look at PayPal's supported currencies listed here and I'm not seeing AED on that list. However, you'll want to double check with PayPal to be certain.


Going forward, I recommend adding another payment provider to your online store so that customers can check out. This page lists payment gateways you can use with Shopify in the United Arab Emirates. I do see PayPal Express on this list so it may still be possible to use PayPal Express with your shop, but it's best to speak to PayPal about this some more as they will have the most accurate information to continue helping you.
