Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello,
I had updated my banking information (both the routing & account #s) yesterday so that I could capture a payment and have it deposited into my bank account. However, I noticed that the name of the bank to where it was going to be deposited, was not my bank. I contacted my bank today and confirmed the correct routing & account #s and then updated that information correctly and now I see my bank. My question is will that payout end up at that other bank or will it be diverted into the correct bank, now that I have correctly updated my routing & account #s? Thank you in advance for any help that you may provide.
Hey there, @pasockeye. Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community today with your payout account question. My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!
Just to set some expectations for you here, we're unable to authenticate users in the Community. This means that I can't access your account, or discuss any account specific information.
Just to clarify, did you provide incorrect information (routing number and account number) when linking your bank account to your payouts? Or, did you provide the correct info, and only the name of the bank showing was incorrect?
If the situation is that the wrong bank account ended up being linked to your payouts, you'll want to speak to our Authenticated Team so they can look into the options available to help you out. You can use this link to reach out to the team.

Thank you Imogen for your reply. Initially back on Friday afternoon, I thought I had updated both correct routing & account #s linking them to my bank account, but then afterwards I went in to the settings to confirm that the correct bank was listed in my settings, and another bank that I am not familiar with appeared which led me to believe that I put in the wrong information. I then contacted my bank and they gave me the correct routing # although my account # was correct, and then I updated the routing # and successfully linking to the correct bank. My concern is that the payout I requested may have gone to that other bank(?) although with it taking 1 to 3 business days, I hope that the verification process works. I will copy this same email and send it to the Authenticated Team, and again, thank you for your help.
Hi again, @pasockeye. Thanks for following up with me here!
So it does sound like you had provided the incorrect routing number. If that's the case, then you will definitely want to reach out to our Authenticated Team using the link I provided you. That link leads to our Help Center. You'll want to let our AI Chat Assistant know about your issue, and also let them know that you'd like to speak to a human about your issue. It will help you get linked up with a member of our Authenticated Team.
