Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I'm receiving this message on my site while testing checkout with credit card:
"Your payment could not be processed at this time, please try again in a few minutes"
I have waited and tried again, tried with a different credit card, and tried with a different device. Paypal works fine.
Is this a shopify payments issue, or something else? Has anyone else experienced it before?
Thanks.
Thank you for your help Ryder. My mistake was that the value I was trying to process on the test transaction was too low.
Thanks again!
If it is a website that you are shopping on (rather than your own website) there's probably nothing you can do other than contact the owner of the site?
Hi @Averie4414!
Thanks for posting, and I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble finalizing your order as a consumer. As @Sirrah mentioned, it'd be best for you to reach out to the business directly for support with completing your purchase. We don't conduct daily affairs such as customer service for any of the businesses using our platform. They'll be your best point of contact at this point. If they need to get in touch with their payment provider, they'll be able to do that.
Cheers!

Hey there, @taylorNguyen!
Thanks for reaching out. Are you still experiencing this issue? I just attempted to review your checkout on my end here, and it looks like your PayPal payment gateway is set up and working appropriately:
Are you currently only using PayPal as a payment gateway? If you're trying to use any other third-party payment gateways, it'd be best to reach out to them directly for any concerns regarding their connectivity. If you're eligible and trying to set up Shopify Payments and receiving this error, I'd be happy to take a look into it for you!
Cheers.

Ryder here from the Social Care Team at Shopify. Thanks for posting! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble testing your checkout, but I'd be happy to see if I can offer some guidance.
You can learn more information about an attempted transaction relating to the order on the Order's page. Because these order's were unsuccessful, you can click on Orders > Abandoned checkouts in the lefthand menu of your Admin to review your abandoned orders. Once you've opened the order in question, you can find the transaction information in the History section of the order. If you click on a transaction message, it will open up and share more information regarding the gateway and error code. This should give you some insight as to what went wrong with the transaction. Similarly, your successful orders will have a Timeline section where you can review the timeline of the order, including transactions.
We don't currently have any live issues reported with the Shopify Payments Gateway, but this message can sometimes be a result of the minimum required charge not being met. Because Shopify Payments is powered by Stripe, you can find the minimum and maximum charge amounts on their guide here. You'll want to ensure that the amount you're trying to checkout with exceeds the minimum limit.
You can also test the Shopify Payments Gateway by enabling test mode and simulating successful or failed transactions. You can reference our Testing Shopify Payments guide to help you out.
If you're still unable to determine the cause of this failed attempt at a transaction, or have any questions at all, please let me know and I'd be happy to take a deeper look into it for you!
Cheers.
I keep getting emails about this and I never even ordered or attempted to order anything so I'm extremely confused... To the point where I think someone is trying to get my information. I haven't even been on shopify in over 3 months nor do I shop here

And yes, Still I am unable to make the payment. My mastercard payment was not accepted due to some reason. Paypal payment is also not getting accepted.
Too bad. I lost lot of revenue and currency due to Shopifys payment issue. Lot of effort went waste.

Hi there
I have checked my abandoned checkouts and I have missed out on 24 orders because of this. I still can’t seem to change anything about how to get customers to pay. I just tried one random one myself and the same happened to me. It said Your payment could not be processed at this time, please try again in a few minutes.
I tried again and it still said the same. Customers are also complaining about this. I spoke to Shopify on the phone and they cannot identify a problem so what can I do?
This has just happened to me.. Did you resolve the issue or did it just fix itself? TIA
