Hi @jiacekke

Could you let me know what country you want to register within for Shopify Payments and what country your business is legally located in?

Once I have that information I can definitely share what information will be requested. It can take a few days to hear back from the team who handles these reviews, so if you haven't yet reached out I recommend creating a ticket in our Help Center for this issue: Shopify Help Center - Contact Support.

Thank you for confirming that for me!

I've included a list of the standard requirements for identification. Depending on the type of business you have or the needs of our verification team they could ask for additional documents in order to verify the business.

Government Issued Photo ID - The ID must be a standard government issued photo ID. Commonly we accept driver's licenses, passports, and federal identity cards. ID must completely match the name on the Shopify Payments account and the date of birth on file.

  • Passport
  • Passport card
  • Driver license
  • State issued ID card
  • Resident permit ID / U.S. Green Card
  • Border crossing card
  • Child ID card
  • NYC card
  • U.S. visa card
  • Birth Certificate (cannot be used as photo ID)

Proof of Address: Name and address must both be visible on the document.

  • Utility Bill (heat, water, electricity), dated within the last 6 months
  • Bank statement, dated within the last 6 months
  • Lease agreement or mortgage statement
  • Government issued letter, such as IRS notice of assessment

Company/Entity Documents

  • IRS Letter CP575 (confirmation letter received after submitting an SS4 EIN application form)
  • IRS Letter 147C

Hi @suhaayoo

All businesses on Shopify are legal business entities, even if the store is brand new and never made any sales. If you are being requested to provide proof of business and you have not yet registered your business account with your local government authorities then I would recommend doing so.

Our team that handles authentication and reviews these requests are familiar with dropshipping businesses. You will want to provide screenshots of your suppliers listings and proof of their inventory or your partnership with them.
