Change a product buy button link via api

I run an online auction and I use Shopify product pages to showcase my products but the actual bidding process is off Shopify. 

Is there a way to change the buy buttons URL to go my bidding page via API

Correct me if I'm wrong you want to place a link on but button which will redirect to your bidding website??
