Focusing on managing products, variants, and collections through the API.
Hi
New to Shopify!
I'm wondering whether we can update existing items, only the stock levels by CSV. I.e with just two columns, SKU and Stock level.
Thanks for your help and support 🙂

Wonderful - thanks you.
Also wondering how Shopify deals with uploading new input files
1. Option to update existing items
2. New items in the file(not already in shop) - are created as drafts?
3. Is there an option to "drop"/move to draft items that are NOT in the new input file?
Thanks again - lol tryna' get my head around this - I'm used to using Woocommerce.
You can also import products via CSV!

Lovely ! That's good to know - as for the meanwhile I'll be updating manually - API in the future!
API FTW!
In which system(s) your source of truth is for products and inventory?
Cheers!
Hi, thanks again for this.
Just a quick question. I see on the import screen shot 1. Overwrite existing with matching handles YAY. That's cool. 2. Publuish new products to all channels - so the items import as live/active items. Ideally would like them to be drafts or similar so I can amend/edit prior to publishing?
Thanks again for your help and support!
Hey there @itsmeifti ,
The Shopify Admin's built-in inventory import tool requires additional columns such as the Handle and Options columns, unfortunately.
If you're open to using an app, our EZ Inventory app is designed specifically for updating the available quantity of existing products/variants in Shopify. You can update the stock levels in Shopify using a CSV file that only contains a "SKU" and "Stock levels" column.
You can do a manual upload of the CSV file or automate the updates as well if the CSV file can be downloaded from an FTP/SFTP server or a public website URL (such as a Google Drive shared link).
Feel free to contact us in case you have any questions about the app.
