Upload digital file (image) to product via API

Hi,

I currently have a process where I upload products to my store via API, with the idea that these products are "Digital" (downloadable).

The problem I have is that the Shopify API does not allow me to upload digital images and link them to the products. I'm triying with "Digital Downloads" app, powered by Shopify.

Can anyone come up with any ideas?
