Link In Social Media Bio: How Is It Counted In Analytics?

Hi everyone, great to discuss with you all merchants! 
I am trying to understand how does Shopify Analytics process the data regarding the sessions coming from the direct link in the social media’s bio.

Does it count it as a direct visit or from social media? 
This would be very precious to know because if my numbers are correct it would mean I’m just wasting money on IG and turn them all to Google Ads.

I’m very unsure about it. Where do the social media sessions come from? Are they from posts only or from the link in bio too?
