Recurring subscription payments via Paypal express

Hello,

We are setting up our web shop on shopify as a business. We will sell subscriptions with monthly payments.

We would like to offer Paypal (express or not) as a payment method to subscribe (recurring payments required).

Can the Paypal express payment method be used in shopify for recurring payments? I mean does shopify manages then the recurring orders to paypal. Or do I have to setup subscription plans within Paypal ?

Or can this be done via a recurring payment app that supports Paypal express ? (if yes which app ?)

Or are recurring subscription payements only supported via the Shopify payment method ?
