App Concepts for new Discount Functionality

Hi,

I'm a Shopify developer and had a few questions on a couple app ideas-

Promo Measurement: I was wondering how merchants typically decide how well their coupons are performing. The default Shopify discount tool and reporting just shows the basics on revenue per code, orders, etc. but doesn't allow merchants to set a control to measure incremental revenue or incremental profit. Right now it seems difficult to know if those orders with discount redeems were effectively incentivized by the discount or if they would have happened anyway.
Would merchants find it helpful to measure incremental metrics using a control group e.g. in a true A/B test? Do merchants want to see if discounts drive repeat purchase behavior even after the discount expires? And does this already exist?

Intelligent Item-level Promos: Right now Shopify will support discounts gated to specific collections. But would it be helpful to allow merchants to gate discounts to products based on their $ margin? E.g. merchants may want to offer a $10 discount only on items they know have more than $10 of margin. This could also apply to items that are overstocked. Merchants can look up specific items to add to a discount, but it seems like it might be easier to automatically do this based on some rules. It'd also be helpful to know if some apps out there are already doing this.

Thanks!
