I have purchased the Mobile Socket 1D. New inventory has arrived that contains a barcode. Instead of using the camera to scan the barcode can I use the mobile socket to scan the barcode when entering inventory. right now

Only the app works for inventory scanning at this time. Let me know if there's any confusion around that.

Thank you for sharing your question with our network.
The Socket Mobile 1D barcode scanner is intended for use when adding products to the cart, but will not work to scan inventory. If you do try to scan new inventory, you will see an error that reads "Unrecognized barcode" and will not be able to proceed. To read more about this scanner and frequently asked questions, make sure to check out our official documentation.
I assume you are already using the inventory scanner feature that is built into the Shopify app? If so, you can expect that to work with a camera which is currently the quickest way to import new product data.
