Can Shopify POS Pro change the business name on receipts?

Hi.

We have a Shopify Store under our normal business name, we now want to open a Shop using POS under a different trading name.

Will Shopify POS Pro allow us to alter the business name and address shown on the POS receipt

Hi Victor

Thanks for the reply but after installing and playing with Shopify POS i have had to create another store and also use a different POS as Shopify POS only works on a tablet or mobile phone and not on a normal PC Setup.

You can read more about combining discounts using Shopify POS on our Help Center. Both monetary and percentage discounts can be applied in combination via the POS checkout. I'd recommend adding some discounts to your store and applying them for a test order to see how the combined discounts work in practice.

Hi @TonyP2,

 

Thank you for your question. I believe that the POS receipt template will automatically pull the store name and address from the ones you have entered in the Store details section of your admin settings, so if these are the names you want to use then they should appear as you'd want them too. As you're looking at setting up a second store for your POS sales then you should be able to add whichever name and address you want to appear on the receipt.

 

You can still customize receipts within the POS app, if you wish. Please let me know if you need any further assistance with this.

Hi Victor

I have looked at your suggestion but your recomendations only seem to apply to POS Pro and i'm still not sure that PRO will allow me to alter the actual name on the address and I dont want to sign up and input everything only to find that it doesnt allow this and ive wasted $89

The alternative i have thought of is to have a new Shopify store but i can see how i can link one stores stock and SKUs to another store?

Hi @TonyP2,

 

I have checked in with our retail team and they have confirmed that the store name that appears on your POS receipts is the same one that you will have entered into the Store details section of your admin settings, and it is not possible to have a different name appear on your receipts. This is the case for both POS Lite and POS Pro.

 

You can change the store address that appears on the receipts by adding a new location in the admin, but only if the location is on the POS Pro plan.

 

If having a different name on the receipt from the one you use for your online store is a necessity, then you would need to consider opening a second Shopify store for your retail sales. You cannot link stock and inventory between two different stores without using an app; I'd recommend checking out the following options:
