Can you add products by scanning UPC in an online store?

Is there a way to add products by scanning the UPC? My client has a store with millions in inventory and ZERO inventory control. No CSV, nothing. Any way of using a scanner (either Shopify's or 3rd party) to scan the UPC and pull  the info into the site?

TIA

Hi

Are you creating the products after you scan the barcode or just capturing the inventory stock levels for each SKU?

Not quite. What I want is to be able to scan the UPC and have the product
information pull up out of a database. That information can then be ported
to a CSV file or directly into Shopify. I found an app that will pull the
product information off the UPC, but I can't export it as a CSV file. I
found multiple apps that will scan at UPC and export to a CSV file, but it
doesn't access the online database to pull the product information.

Did you find a solution that worked out? I just migrated a ton of products with UPC's but I don't have a database of product images and need to pull in images in mass to complete build.

Hi @pushthepixel we could implement a Shopify Admin-API solution to create a full-automated solution for your client. White Label is possible.

I need a solution for my problem. I have over 5000 products with UPC. I want to scan my UPC and fetch me the data and image from a database, and turn it into product creation. All I need to enter is cost and price.

Did you ever find a solution? Dealing with same issue and hoping for a way to add stock images in mass.

Unfortunately no. You have to manually fetch images from popular databases that has it.

Just hire data entry freelancer on Upwork to do it for you.

hope I helped
