Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
Is there an audit or a way to see who and what time the cash register was opened via the POS app? I know there is a way to see if a staff member took cash for a transaction, but what if it was a no-sale? I have been all over the POS and the Shopify admin panel and cannot find it, but I swear I have seen it in the past.
Did you ever figure this out?
Hey there, @fwlocals! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community and following up on this thread! My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!
All POS customer are able to access a feature called 'Cash Tracking' where they can start and review tracking sessions for specific registers. You can access this feature by logging into your POS App, going to 'More' and then 'Register'. You'll see the option to begin a new tracking session, end a current session, or review past sessions.
Beyond this, POS Pro users have access to a 'Cash Tracking Audit Report' for the locations that they have that use POS Pro! This report shows more specific audit information related to payment tracking that can be referred to, and it can be found in your 'POS Sales Channel' from your Shopify Admin. We have a help document here that outlines some more information about this audit report, as well as the information that it provides.
