Checkbox for over 18's item

Hi All, 

We are a company selling crockery, cutlery, glassware, etc. As we are selling chef's knives also, is there a way to add a checkbox on the check out page to confirm the person purchasing is over 18 years old?

Adding a checkbox to the Checkout is not an available customization, however adding a checkbox to your Cart page is! There are two ways to go about doing it:

 

  1. Customize your theme code to include it on the Cart page so that your customers must agree to it before being able to proceed to the checkout. The steps for this customization are found in the tutorial for Cart-Add an ‘Agree to terms and conditions’ checkbox. If you need assistance with it, please reach out to a Shopify Expert.
  2. Use a third party app from the Shopify App Store. You can either use one built specifically for Age Verification or use one for accepting your Terms and Conditions. Most apps do have a free trial period, so feel free to use that time to install the app and see if it works as needed. Just remember to uninstall it before the trial ends if you decide it is not for you. More information about working with third party apps is found in this Help Doc.

That’s great, @timaversa! I’m so happy to hear we were able to find a solution for you. Out of curiosity, was it an app, or the theme code customization that worked better for you?
