Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
in my checkout section pop up shows'' This store can't accept real orders or real payments.'' and i don't know what to do.. anyone here can help me
Hi,
I've the same issue.
Gabriele
Hi @LYOUAJ and @gabriele_it,
Dani here from Shopify. Thanks for writing in.
It sounds like your payment provider may be in test mode.
Which payment provider are you using? If you're using Shopify Payments, can you please go to Settings > Payment Providers > Manage from your admin? If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll see an option to disable test mode.
This should resolve the issue that you're seeing at checkout. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
All the best,
Dani

No, this is an issue that only popped up a few days ago. In our case it is in a development store, which now has the notification "Development stores can only process test payments" in the payment providers section.
Please resolve urgently.
Hi @SOLIDIDEA,
i think it's what you say: I've activate another store few days ago and I'had not problem with checkout using manual payment.
I've activated the store with checkout issue and it works fine.
Gabriele
Thanks for providing that context, @SOLIDIDEA. In this case, this is expected. You should have received notification via our Partners Newsletter recently, as well as a notification in your Partners dash. Since development stores are intended to be a testing environment for our partners to create stores before being transferred to merchants for launch, we've changed how orders are processed on dev stores.
You'll still be able to test orders though. Take a look at our documentation on testing orders in development stores here.
Let me know if you have any further questions!

Hi Dani
I understand that reasoning, and I'm totally fine with that. But it's not cool to invoke that new policy onto existing development stores. We communicate to our clients that the can test the store already with real orders, while we continue to develop. This works really well, because the client runs into real life issues that we can solve in development phase already. Much faster proces than delivering the store and only then encountering the real life problems.
It would only be reasonable that the existing development stores can continue to proces the remainder of their 50 real orders. For new stores we can understand that there are new rules. Now we have to break our promise to our clients that they can proces up to 50 real orders and force them on a paid plan to continue, while most of them aren't ready for that commitment.
Really not a cool move by Shopify... (quite unexpectedly since we really like Shopify generally)
I can definitely understand that, @SOLIDIDEA. I appreciate your feedback, and I've passed this information along to our product team. They may reach out to you directly via email to gather more details as to what you need during this time.
All the best,
Dani

i have same issu you can help me please
I totally agree with @SOLIDIDEA. @Dani this should be resolve since we want to prevent future errors when the store is launch. At least give us options if we wanted that development test invoking the policy or not. The best option is to allow us to test a real order while in the development phase. It is obvious that we just wanted to prevent errors in a real-life scenario, which you can prevent in development phase.
We have our clients and the 50 orders motivate them to create their store in Shopify, But this update will make them back off that, so we need to delete this notification,
Dammit why did you do this to existing stores?
I am having the same issue. I am still in development and well under the 50 order limit.
Please restore ASAP the 50 real orders limit for development stores created before March 30th 2020.
Also the message "This store can't accept real orders or real payments." should not be appearing on the payment page as long as the limit has not been reached yet.
Thank you.

Yeah, this is terrible. Short term profits are the focus instead of long term.
Get people hooked on shopify and loving it with the 50 purchase limit.
Devs will start looking elsewhere
hi dani
i have same problem with others.
can`t recieve real orders and payment please help me thanks!
im using shopify partners
Good afternoon my store keeps saying that my store "
This store can't accept real orders or real payments." but i dont have test mode on in my payment section it says something like "Activate the test payment provider, or set your payment provider to test mode. Learn more about testing in development stores." I need help i am very confused why this is showing in my store.
I would like your team to reach out privately to me as well. I definitely feel this is not right. We had an agreement that we could sell up to 50 sales from the development store, so our client can decide. Please fix this on my madbits.xyz site. This is crazy. Thank you kindly.
-Greg
Good afternoon,
Is there a reason my shopify store will not accept real payments. I have verified that my store is not in test mode, but it is a development store.
Can someone please clarify this soon?
Isaac Garlington
Hi, so after five months of struggle with my spare time that I take from my family to finish my store, I see that I can't test my payments. I get this "This store can't accept real orders or real payments." message, and after I click "Complete order" 2Checkout Convert Plus try to finish order spins me and return me to the same page. I have turned off the testing mode, and everything is the same. This Shopify's move is not cool at all, as if they don't care about users, just pay the monthly fee and then play with your Business. Well, I'm very disappointed.
My test mode is disable but it is still showing
I tried this and it still didn’t work. The test mode is not enabled yet I see this pop up in the checkout section: '' This store can't accept real orders or real payments.'' We are not a development store and may have been erroneously noted as such on the back end. We’ve been receiving real orders and payments from customers up until recently. What can be done to remedy this situation?
Im having the same issue using PAYPAL!
'This store can't accept real orders or real payments'
I add paypal payment on my site but when I check out payment notice
This store can't accept real orders or real payments.
I have this issue too, what the hell, so tired of processing so many things
i have same issu you can help me please
