Does the POS app adjust sales tax based on location?

I've spoken to 4 different people via chat and phone and have received different answers. Please help - I have a salesman traveling to MANY different locations throughout a 4 state area. Will the Shopify POS app in conjunction with Shopify tax automatically charge the correct sales tax rate based on the location of the device being used for the sale or do I have to preemptively manually enter the address of hundreds of different customers in order for the correct rate to be charged?
