Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
Hi there from Denmark
I have a physical shop where I use the Zettle-system for receiving payments.
I am conciddering creating a Shopify webshop in addition to my physical shop.
In the Shopify Basic Solution there seems to be a 1,7% fee on credit card payments made by physical use.
Does this mean that Shopify will charge me 1,7% from every sale in the physical shop if I continue with the Zettle-system in the physical shop?
Hi @KWV !
If you continue to keep your Point of Sale with another payment gateway, we will not charge you a fee for the transaction since payment will be captured outside of Shopify.
Your workflow for this scenario would be creating an order manually through your Shopify application, charging the total amount through your external payment provider/POS system and marking the order as paid in Shopify. This means that the monetary transaction was not facilitated by us and therefore a fee will not be incurred.
On our pricing plan, you will see credit card fees based on our payment gateway Shopify Payments. When it comes to the Point of Sale credit card fees, these would not be incurred if you follow the above steps to manually create an order and mark it as paid outside Shopify. If you were to switch over your Point of Sale to be exclusively managed through Shopify and our payment gateway, then those fees would apply.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
Cheers!
