Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
We see that there is now a way to add shipping to an order (still no local delivery) at the POS. It's convoluted workflow causes the staff to not use it, so we have people who forget to add it. Because we don't get email updates about changes to our system from Shopify, and it's not in the changelog, some staff don't even know about this. We discovered it by accident.
My feature request is to improve this hidden function, by adding an option to ADD shipping OR delivery as an option AFTER the sale is completed on the POS. Even if we could edit it in the admin after, to change it to be a shipping order or a delivery order, that would be helpful. We need more options to manipulate the sales when there are so many ways we serve our clients nowadays.
Thanks for your comment. For the tiny bit of coding required for them to finish up the workflow, we aren't installing another app (risky potential, especially with Shopify updating things all the time and then apps breaking our website and POS), plus the extra expense. Our feature requests are specifically for Shopify dev's - if they are listening at all to their user base - for things that will create a good functioning BASE product. We were not aware of the double dipping business model Shopify had when the system was first sold to us, so I continue to encourage them to create a better base product, with way better stability than is currently enjoyed.
