How can I add a new payment method to Shopify POS?

I would like to add a new shopify payment method.

This payment method is used to make payment availible with a payment terminal.

This payment method also has to have an internet connection.

Is there a way to make this possible?

I couldn't really find anything that could do this in the documentation.

The availability of the Shopify Payments gateway will depend on your online store's location. Would you happen to be able to share where your store is generally located? 
 
Typically, if the Shopify Payments gateway is not available to you - you can use a third-party payment gateway. We do have a great help document here that shows you the available payment gateways to you depending on your location

I have made a way to control a payment terminal via the internet by using an API.

I would like to integrate this into the POS app as an payment method, so that the merchant can choose the correct payment terminal and send an request for an payment. 

As a side note:

I do not own a store i just want to extend the POS app of shopify and giving the users an extra option when it comes to choosing their hardware. 

I live in the netherlands.
