Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
We use POS almost exclusively and we have recently had an unusual amount of registers being under at the end of the day.
To figure out who the possible offenders are, I went to Point of Sale => View Cash tracking sessions => select date => select register => scroll down to see all the cashiers.
Then I created a spreadsheet and manually ticked off which cashiers logged into the register on days when a significant over or under occurred. Unfortunately, after selecting the register and then clicking back, it took me back to today's date regardless of which date I had previously selected. It was a lot of work but helped us identify the culprit.
I would love for Shopify to run a report that looks like the attached.
The next best thing would be to add cashier data to custom reports.
The least helpful but still better option is to revert to the date range previously selected when clicking back.
If this is something you struggled with and found a better solution, let me know, thanks!
Hi, @CVT!
Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and I'm glad to see that you were able to find a solution. I will share your feedback with our developers to ensure your suggestion is reviewed. You can keep an eye on our Changelog as we post all new updates and developments there.
In the meantime, when selecting the cashier, you can try right clicking and opening the page on a new tab so you will not have to click on the back button and lose the date range.
Feel free to reply back to this thread with any questions or updates and we can continue our conversation further!

Thanks Mac, good tip about right clicking, I knew that but didn't apply it here.
While I appreciate your response, it's not actually a resolution. I can't be the first and I won't be the last POS customer to request register sessions reports. Opening window after window isn't a long term solution.
I understand that you probably need to close as many open cases as possible and that this isn't your fault, but I'm not going to close it yet. Thanks for understanding.
Hi again, @CVT!
Thank you for the follow up. I completely understand that the right click to open a new tab trick is not a long term solution to this. It was rather a suggestion to help speed up the process.
However, I can confirm that I have submitted your feedback to our developers for review and I appreciate you taking the time to reach out. I agree that leaving this posting open will benefit the community in case any other merchant is facing a similar issue. I will continue to monitor this thread and share any feedback to the correct team.

Update - right click does NOT work for cash tracking sessions. I get the attached menu instead. Can this be changed?
