How can I scan UPC +5 and EAN +5 barcodes effectively?

We sell books and graphic novels that use UPC +5 and EAN +5 barcode formats.  We need to get our Socket Mobile S740 to read these barcode formats (usually you'd do this by scanning a command code scan to add a format but we can't find that anywhere) Examples;

I'm sorry I don't have any advice, but I have the same issue with books and it's so annoying, so I'm following for help!

Finally figured it out! I have attached the Socket Mobile programming guide in ZIP, on page 41 there is a barcode that you must scan called "Decode UPC/EAN with Supplementals" (make sure your scanner isn't connected to the iPad, just toggle bluetooth then scan)

I have tested this with the S700 and works with Comics, trades and hardcovers.

Thank you that is what we have been trying but stil lcan't get it to work (have been going back and forsth with Socket Mobile for weeks). Maybe our scanner is just bad. That does seem to be the right code/format though, in talking to other retailers about it - thanks again!

This did work for us - we got a new scanner and started from scratch and "Decode UPC/EAN with Supplementals" was the key
