How can we enforce customer selection at POS checkout?

Similar to the option to require a customer account for online checkout, we need this option for the POS terminal. We tell our sales clerks to add/select a customer before checkout, but ultimately, they fail to do so. Does anyone know of a way to do this? If not, I'd like to put in a request to Shopify for this feature.

There isn't an option to make customer accounts required on the Shopify POS at the moment I'm afraid. However, I can understand how important this functionality is to you and I'd be happy to submit a feature request on your behalf. If Shopify releases a new feature or moves forward with any changes to our platform, then we'll be sure to announce them on the Shopify Changelog. 

I noticed that you're a new member of our Shopify Community! I'd love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
