Hi, @Ferrer4717.

Greetings, I hope you're well!

How you set up your products Global Identification Number would depend on the products you sell. For example, if you are selling handmade, unique products, you would label your products as 'Custom.' This means they wouldn't have a GTIN or MPN.

However, if you're selling a product that requires a GTIN it would be listed on the products packaging. If you're unable to locate it, you can reach out to the manufacturer and they should be able to provide this to you. Google actually has a great help guide on how to find these numbers, as well as what to look for on the product's packaging here.

I hope that helps! In the meantime, feel free to tell us a bit more about your products as this could help us find some additional resources to help you.

I wonder if the OP is asking how to actually go in and do it. I am unable to find anywhere that we can add the GTIN to the Google listing. It says the vast majority of our products are not listed with Google. They nearly all have a barcode (GTIN) so why are they not listed? It says on the notification that we have to list our shipping fee. Where on that screen can we list our shipping fee? There is no way to fix this - an actual walk through of how to correct the Google errors, with screenshots, would go far to help merchants manage this Google platform challenge.

Hi, @petgrocer.

That is a great point! These kinds of codes can definitely be confusing, as a barcode doesn't specifically mean you have a GTIN. The GTIN you use must be internationally recognized and not created via an app such as Retail Barcodes. If you're unable to verify your product GTIN you can use services such as Barcode Lookup to locate the correct information.

Once you have narrowed down the correct barcode you can add it to your products via Shopify. First, you will need to make sure you have installed the Google Channel to your store. Then, head to the product you need to add the GTIN to in Products. Then, select Actions > Google Fields. Here you will see all the Google Field Options.

Another option is to open your Google Sales Channel and select the products that aren't approved. You will see on the far right the option to adjust the Google Fields.

When it comes to Shipping, it can be a bit more difficult has Google has very specific shipping requirements . We have a great help guide you can view with full instructions on how to set this up. However, it might be helpful to speak to one of our live advisors who can take a look at your current shipping settings as well as what you have being sent to the Google Channel as it might require some tinkering.

Hi!

Would you explain where to label the handmade product as custom to get it available on Google Shopping, please?  Thanks xx

Hi @ATHRAADESIGNS

You can find this option through your Google and Youtube sales channel app in your store admin. You will want to edit your product through the sales channel and set the attribute for "Custom" item to true. You can use the Get Support option inside the sales channel for additional help finding that if needed.
