Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
Hey Everybody!
I'm a shopify rookie and wanted help with something.
So I'm starting a company where in my store I have physical products (i've easily set this up) and then I would like a service to appear in the products page but I’d like to not show any pricing and/or availability information and only show a button like “INQUIRE NOW” or "REGISTER YOUR INTEREST". This should then get a customer to see a pop-up form, add his/her information such as name, phone number and post code/zip code.
If anyone could help me do this in laymen's terms that would be legendary!
Cheers
I can definitely help you with a simple button/redirect link to a contact form page on your store. Creating a popup window within the same page is a bit over my skill, but this will at least get you started until you can take it to the next level.
I highly recommend using a free HTML Editor to do this. My example image below was created using this one: HTML Editor - Online Web Content Composer
First, create a contact form page for your button/link to direct to. You can create a contact form (or use your default one) by going to Online Store > Pages, Create Page, Change template to "Contact Form", and save. View the page and copy the URL for it.
Next, if using an image like the "Book Now >" image in my screenshot below, you will need to source an image (make sure it is free to use for commercial purposes, most search engines support that filter). Save the image and upload it to your Shopify admin under Settings > Files, and copy the URL for the image.
Create the hyperlink or image hyperlink in a free HTML editor. Either enter the text or image (using the URL from the uploaded image) into the editor, then highlight and add a hyperlink to the contact form page on your store.
Last step is to add this to your product descriptions in the store admin. Open the product you wish to add the redirect button to and switch the view to the rich text editor (looks like <> in the upper right side of the description field), and paste the button/link into the appropriate place. Save and test to make sure it works!
