We have several non-staff members (acupuncturists) who receive commission for prescribed product. How can we attribute sale to them when they're not Shopify staff?
You'd need to use an "affiliates" app to handle non-staff-member commission tracking.

If this is for POS, and not the online store (ie. website), then you'd want to filter the apps by which ones work with POS:
