how to auto update inventory for products with same blank but different design?

my company has a bunch of blank hats that we then print different logos and designs onto them.  On our shopify store we have these different designs as individual products and all have their own inventory amount.  However, they are all the same blank before we add the design.  Is there a way to make it so that when 'Product A' gets sold the inventory for 'Product B' and so on gets updated automatically?

Hi @SkiTownAll-Star, the app Material Manager can achieve this. It would let you enter an inventory of raw materials and then link the appropriate Shopify variants to these materials. When a product linked to a material is sold it will draw down the material inventory in the app and update all of the other Shopify products linked to the same material.

Research bundle apps. Some of them let you bundle a product and a
non-tangible product/service. The ones you want will present it to the
customer as product Z which on the backend decreases product X and charges
for service Y. Not the bundle apps that show the customer an actual bundle
consisting of separate product X and service Y.

And service Y should be able to be selectable on the bundle page as
different variants with different markups/markdowns.

You can try Easify Inventory Sync to link all your hat designs to a single inventory source. When one design sells, the stock for all other designs will update automatically since they share the same blank hat. It’s easy to set up and doesn’t require coding.

1. Assign the same SKU to all your hat (A,B) to simplify the next steps
2. Set up an Inventory Group: Use the app to create Inventory Groups that group your hat. Click “Run smart scan,” and it will automatically create groups based on matching SKUs.
3. How does it work? When hat A is purchased, the inventory of hat A and B will automatically be reduced by 1, ensuring that the inventory of your blank hat is tracked.
