Hey Shopify,

Remember how you say you support small businesses? Well then perhaps you can add in the ability for ALL POS tiers to 1. Exchange orders and 2. Refund an order for store credit, which is the policy of literally every small business I know.

I have managed Shopify stores for nearly 4 years, and now own my own, and it is a very, very simple ability to be able to exchange an order, and certainly shouldn't be limited to POS Pro, when I am my only employee and don't need that $80 "upgrade" for anything else. For example, I had a customer come in to exchange a shirt she was gifted for the same shirt in a different color. Shopify told me my best option was to refund the original order (to the gifter) and then check out the recipient, who then would be responsible for paying for her gift. This is not acceptable.

Additionally, small businesses cannot afford money being taken out of their deposits, which is why most of us have our store policy as "refunds to store credit," which you literally make impossible, unless I purchase yet another app for an ability that Shopify needs to integrate into the return process for all POS tiers. I *briefly* got excited when I heard you were creating your own internal store credit system. Then it was released and not only does it not apply to orders being returned for store credit, it cannot even be used on the POS. WHAT'S THE POINT!

Please do what you claim and support small businesses. Allow us to exchange orders or return them for store credit, which are very basic features, on all levels of POS. And please listen to the updates that actually need to be made, instead of putting so many resources to updates that somehow make Shopify progressively less small business-friendly or user-friendly for that matter. You don't need to keep changing random fonts or buttons on the POS, but you do need to implement the suggestions that have been brought up for years now.

Sincerely,

A small business owner
