We desperately need to be able to have certain products available for in-store pick up ONLY! We have a cafe in our store and we are constantly missing lunch orders because the customer accidentally choose shipping at checkout and it does not fall in under our local pickup orders. We then are having to constantly refund those customers for shipping which is making our bookkeeping a nightmare! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, make a feature for this!!! If anyone else is having this issue and wants them to add this feature please comment or if you have a good workaround in the meantime (that is not unchecking it as a physical product) please share!

Are your customers using the standard online checkout? Shopify’s Checkout Blocks app is free and may work for you. It allows you to hide/remove delivery options from the customer based on specific conditions you define. Such as, hiding the shipping option if products in the cart have a specific tag, or are part of a certain collection.

That sounded awesome but when I went and looked my store isn’t compatible as we have Shopify Pro not Plus. Are there any other apps that are similar?

You can create a custom shipping profile in settings.

Settings > Shipping and Delivery

Select "New Profile" at the top and call it "Pickup Only" or whatever you like.

Add your shipping zones, but don't add any rates. 

Add items that you want to be pickup only

This basically blocks anyone from selecting a shipping option other than pickup. Just remember to add a note for customers on the product page

So what do you mean by adding a note for customers on the product page? I
have created a new profile and added the items to it. I tested it and this
is the page that shows up if they try to select shipping, it seems like
they would realize at that point they need to change it to local pickup
right?

I meant just add a note in the description of the product page that says something like "This item does not ship" Here's an example product

I didn't see your picture but I attached what our setup looks like and what the customer would see. It's been working for us.

I see. Our issue I believe is that people are just so quickly going through
the checkout process that they are just not realizing that the ship to box
is checked and completing checkout and then paying for shipping. We have a
cafe that offers local pickup and a lot of our customers order online and
at least a couple times week someone chooses shipping. It would be ideal
if the ship to box just was not there as an option for these products but I
guess Shopify is just not there yet. I think this may help us for now
though. Thanks so much for responding.
