Incorrect stock levels after inter store sales

Incorrect stock levels after inter store sales

Hi everybody.

Currently we have 2 retail locations, whenever location A does not have the item in stock but location B does.

We still run the sale and then bring in the item from B to A the next day.

Now my problem is that when the sale is made in location A the inventory will show -1, while the inventory in location B will stay at 1. We always have to change this manually when this happens.

But it also gives errors to 3rd party plugins we use (doesn't assign order since stock level stays at 1)

Anyone that could help me out with this?

Thanks!

Hi there, @SebrynRonge. Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums with your question around your stores and their inventory!

I'd just like to confirm the issue before diving in more deeply. Based on what you've described, it sounds like you're selling products at Location A (which has 0 stock for the product sold) and then you bring that inventory from Location B to Location A the next day. Changing this manually is definitely how you would have to address this inventory change, as you cannot have inventory be shared between locations at this time natively within Shopify.

Is the issue that your third party plugin is encountering issues when adjusting your inventory in this way? Or, is the issue that you want to be able to accomodate for this inventory change without needing to change things manually?

I don't have 2 locations but I believe there is a transfer you can use.

But what you seeing is the proper result of the sale with zero stock.
