Is there away to assign a single UPC code to a group of product variants?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a solution on how to assign a single UPC code to a grouping of product variants? We were hoping to have our single can UPC code be applied to four sku variants for the same sku. We offer tiered pricing with the variants i.e. single can, 6 pack, 12 pack, 24 pack. Currently our UPC code is only applied to the single can. We are hoping to have that UPC code when scanned create a pop up or prompt on the POS terminal that allows the staff to pick if the unit is a single unit of that sku or a 6 pack, 12 pack, 24 pack etc.  Many of our sku variants are "virtual" variants that are just different groupings of the same product versus say T-shirt sizes and it doesnt make sense to have 4 bar codes assigned to the product. I have done a lot of research and it does not appear that this exists in shopify and I have not managed to find any apps that fill this hole? Does anyone know of any solutions?
