Retail hardware, software, and Shopify Point of Sale
Hello,
We are a 10+ physical location retailer using NCR Counterpoint as our inventory management and POS system. We have a shopify store online but our two systems do not communicate automatically and it has become a hindrance to our growth.
We are debating next steps to improve. Here are the options as we see it.
1. Stick with counterpoint and pay for a probably messy, labor intensive, and expensive integration with our online store.
2. Move to Shopify POS and integrate seamlessly. Our main concern is does Shopify POS have all the big time functionality of a POS system like Counterpoint or Epicor? Everything I see online worries me it is not sophisticated enough for 4000+ SKU retailers.
3. Go in a totally different direct and adopt NetSuite or another ERP.
Anyone with multiple locations who has migrated to Shopify POS from a legacy solution? Curious how that experience was and how it is going.
NCR Counterpoint was such a massive headache for us. We switched from Counterpoint ~14 months ago and haven’t looked back. We have multiple stores on Shopify Plus and POS Pro. Our largest Shopify store currently has 270,000 products with 10 POS retail locations. Shopify POS is such a breeze to deal with vs Counterpoint. We’ve not had any issues with speed. I highly recommend.
We’ve been working with a brick and mortar business that recently launched Shopify and POS with Dynamics GP (legacy of Business Central). SKU count is over 10-20K and we handled the inventory sync so it really depends on the developer you hire.
