We just ordered physical gift cards from Shopify and they arrived. Now what? I attempted to scan one and it just says "gift card not recognized". Do i need to manually add all these cards into the system, or what am I missing here?

When you sell a gift card, you will scan it and then it will be added to the system.
Until then, there is nothing you need to do.
When, specifically, are you supposed to scan the gift card barcode/QR code?

Our system also says gift card not recognized when redeeming and creating a new one. Was there a resolution to this? Other than typing in a code?
At what point in the transaction are you getting that error?
It seems as the socket scanner won’t read the numbers into POS but if you hold just at the correct angle the IPAD camera will detect and read the number. It’s super finicky and using the socket scanner is ideal.
Actually going back to selling new gift cards - entering the code manually is the only thing that works - leaves too much room for error here. Not sure this system is best for us. Gift cards new or redeeming should be scannable to prevent typing manuals code errors.
