A fiend suggested Shopify, had I realized that they didnt offer live support I would have looked elsewhere. We are a start up boutique selling Modern and Vintage items (clothing, jewels, bags…). Mainly on-line with some retail (by invite, not as a store). The hardware Shopify is selling are for large entity, fast print…we are looking just to support our modest needs. 

A U-Tube video suggest that the Epson TMT 20111 should cover our needs, (of course since we cannot reach a live person at Shopify, it is difficult to make the correct decision) Apparently the 20111 has BT and Wifi and is compatible with both MAC and Shopify download?

We are also looking for cash drawer that will be compatible to the TMT 20111, the MAC and the Shopify download again something small easy to manipulate and compatible to the above.

The requirements are simples:

1-easy to install (we are not technical) 

2-easy to maneuver and to work with

3-compatible with MAC & Shopify download 

4.cost is a factor

2-Cash Drawer Compatibility

• If you use the Epson TM-T20II via USB, you can connect a standard RJ12 (receipt printer-triggered) cash drawer that plugs into the printer.
• A good option that meets your needs is the APG Vasario 1616 (small, simple, and cost-effective).
• If you want a standalone Bluetooth cash drawer, it’s trickier because Shopify POS does not support Bluetooth cash drawers directly.

If you're open to a slightly different setup that guarantees full Shopify support with zero technical issues, I’d recommend:

• Star Micronics TSP143IIIU (USB) Receipt Printer – Works perfectly with Shopify and Mac.
• APG Vasario 1616 Cash Drawer (RJ12 connection) – Works with the printer, automatically opens when you print a receipt.
• Shopify POS Go or iPad as your register – If you're using Shopify POS, this setup is hassle-free.

Bottom Line:

• If you must go with the Epson TM-T20II, get the USB or Ethernet model and a printer-triggered cash drawer.
• If you want an easier, Shopify-approved option, go for the Star Micronics TSP143IIIU instead.
• Avoid Bluetooth/WiFi printers unless Shopify explicitly supports them (which they don’t in this case).
