POS app crashing when receipt printer is plugged in

Yesterday everything was fine. This morning the POS app running on our Samsung tablet crashes whenever we plug in the receipt printer. Has anyone else seen this? Maybe there was an update to the app last night or something. Nothing else has changed from when it was working.
