POS item sales report

I’m having trouble at the end of the day printing a daily itemized sales report of every item that sold so that I can use this as a restocking tool for the sales floor. I’d like to do it right from my POS machine and not from the back office and print it on my receipt printer so it’s handy for my sales associates. Does anyone know how to do this?

I am starting brand new in Shopify POS and I have a similar issue.

My research so far looks like it would need to be done in a app.

Did you see anything diffrent since you posted the question?

I know you can get transaction level information using the API, but I also agree that some kind of vendor report showing daily or weekly sales and inventory summarized by item would be extremely helpful!

I'd love to know this too.  Did you ever get an answer?

No we were passed to a third party for some kind of api help but they weren’t able to explain how to obtain item level total sales for a period of time. We could get individual transaction data but that was far far too granular (and massive) for basic reporting needs, e.g. SKU 12345 sold 29 units last fiscal week.

I found a work around for my boutique. See below;

From the admin page choose -

ANALYTICS

REPORTS

  • In REPORTS under Retail Sales choose Retail sales by product
  • In Retail sales by product
    • Choose the date
    • Click on Edit Columns
      • You will see there are myriad of choices to display and some have been pre-chosen,
      • We remove most of the pre-chosen options
      • Scroll down to Product and choose
        • Product title
        • Product type
        • Variant title
        • Net quantity

Magic!  You now have a list of all inventory sold that day.

Hope this helps!
